Who doesn't love dinosaurs? Or cuddly blue puppies or fire-breathing dragons or Halloween pumpkins?

I’m Paula B. and I make these silly things. And now I'm going to share them with you.

It started years ago when I began sewing with my grandmother. And knitting, and crocheting, and embroidering, and later doing needlepoint. For a long time it was just clothing, which is great. I believe everyone should have clothes. But Grandma also made little stuffed poodles and bunnies and fun birds, and those were even better because I could not only sleep with them, I could tell stories featuring them.

I mean who wouldn't want to make up a story about this guy?

Anyway, fast forward to a couple of years ago when I got a little overenthusiastic ordering some fleece and found myself making creatures and characters up the wazoo. As you can see, it's getting to be quite a menagerie around here.

Anyway, because my friends and family seem to like these guys so much, I finally decided to share them more widely. And here we are.

In occasional posts I will share my creations with you, explain how I made them, and try out some new designs. I will also ask for your help because believe it or not, I get stuck all the time. You wouldn't believe how difficult it can be to make something that looks simple. But you don't have to sew or even know how. I hope to attract not only people who make stuff but also people who just enjoy fun creatures.

At the moment I have no plans to charge for this Substack. I just want to make friends and have fun. If that changes I’ll let you know.
